Ziakis Christos

Christos Ziakis is specialized in e-business and digital marketing. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Informatics and an MSc in Business Informatics from the University of Macedonia in 2009. Additionally, he achieved his PhD from the School of Information Sciences at the University of Macedonia, with a thesis focused on the development of start-ups and their ecosystems.
Professionally, Christos has been immersed in internet and technological innovation since 2005. He began as a web developer and digital marketer in the private sector. Then, from 2010 onwards, he transitioned into the role of an IT project manager. In this capacity, he has offered specialized services in the realms of information systems development, e-business, and digital marketing. He has overseen the development of over 250 IT projects both in Greece and internationally. Between 2012 and 2014, he developed and promoted the award-winning start-up, QRshop.gr. Since 2017, Christos Ziakis has served as a lecturer in e-business, digital marketing, and start-up entrepreneurship for the MIS and MBA programs at both the University of Macedonia and the University of Western Macedonia. Starting in 2021, he began lecturing at the Department of Economics of the IHU, where he covers courses such as “E-business”, “Network Technologies and E-commerce”, “Digital Economy”, and “Information Systems”.
In terms of his written contributions, Christos Ziakis has published articles for scientific journals, presented at international conferences, and authored three chapters in the textbook titled “Digital Marketing: From Theory to Practice” (2020). His chapters delve into topics like the design and development of online presence, search engine optimization (SEO), and online advertising.
