  10. Ways to Increase Share Capital.
  11. Dividend Policy.
  12. Working Capital (Concept, Basic Management Principles, Alternative Financing Policies).
  13. Hybrid Financial Products – Derivatives – International Risk Management.

Educational Goals

The aim of the course is the understanding and knowledge of the financial operation of the products in the context of the Greek and international economic environment, the trends and requirements of the interested parties in terms of the degree of financial leverage and the assumed cost of capital. In particular, topics such as the time value of money, cash flow analysis, risk-free and risk fixed investment planning, cost of capital, capital structure, bankruptcy models and financial decision-making are examined with the aim of maximizing the value of the company, to analyze dividend policy decisions and investment decisions, as well as the ways of financing these investments.

Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to:

  • Know the function and expected purpose of financial management and the concept of risk.
  • Know how to synthesize and analyze investment decisions, as they are shaped by new financial practices.
  • Understand the characteristics and differences of businesses according to their capital structure and situation.
  • Analyze and interpret the results of the capital structure of companies.
  • Apply new financing methods and practices and the interpretation of the results they can bring to a business.
  • Evaluate investments under conditions of uncertainty by applying the discount rate adjustment to risk.
  • Apply capital asset valuation models.
  • Study the capital structure of businesses and the factors that influence it.
  • Evaluate dividend policy systems and models.
  • Know the purpose and method of preparing the cash flow statement.
  • Know the meaning and causes of mergers and acquisitions.
  • Use ratio analysis to evaluate businesses.

Written final exams (60%) that may include:

  • Composite theoratical questions

In each question, corresponding evaluation points are specified.
Optional assignment (Essay writing and presentation) corresponds to 40% of the final grade.
