Vlachos Vasileios

Vasileios Vlachos is an Assistant Professor of Macroeconomics at the Department of Economics of I.H.U. He studied economics, business administration and finance (BSc, MA, MSc) in the UK and holds a Ph.D. from the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Macedonia on the subject of (thesis) “Determinants of private investment in the Greek economy in the euro era”. His research interests concern economic development, the shadow economy, direct investment and the macro-environment of firms. He has collaborated with Columbia University’s Center on Sustainable Investment, participated in research on investment attraction and tax compliance, and contributed to the first assessments of tax morale in Greece. His research work includes papers in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and international collective volumes, editing issues in international scientific journals and editing and writing books on direct investment and the impact of the economic crisis in Greece and Europe.
